The most important fact of the last days, is the performance of the Radiohead brand new song called Super Collider! The great piano song with the company of Thom Yorke‘s voice is a sweet simple melody!

Here you can see two Super Collider Videos from the first and second night in Dublin:

Super Collider (6 June 08)

Super Collider (7 June 08)

Besides here is a first approach to the lyrics of Super Collider :

Super collider
forming into dots
fear has a weapon
…explodes

in a blue light
in a moon light
in a green lght
in a wormhole
i am different
i am now gone
i am open
are you coming
to walk the shadows
back into
the boxes
i am open
i am welcome
i have dislodged my depression
and it falls off
and attaches
i am open
are you coming
to let the shadows back into
the boxes
to put the shadows back into
the boxes

I guess you’ve taken those lyrics from the first video? Because if you watch the 2nd vid, Thom says that he got the words wrong the first time he played the song … so I’m guessing the lyrics from the 2nd video are the correct ones …
Which I’ve tried to get down below, missing a few chunks though!

    Supercollider
    Twisting … ?
    Particles scatter
    Brought in from the sun
Swimming up stream, before their ? crack open
Then pixelation, coming up from the dust

    In a blue light
    In a green light
    In a half-life
    In an odd life

    I’m a … ?
    I’m a … ?
I put the shadows back into the boxes
    I am open
    I am welcome
For a fraction of a second
    I have jettisoned my illusions
    I have dislodged my depressions
I put the shadows back into the boxes.
I put the shadows back into the boxes.

hello there, think i’ve solved the missing bits.

    Supercollider
    Twisted and broken
    Particles scatter
    Brought in from the sun
Swimming up stream, before the heavens crack open
Thin pixelations, coming up from the dust

    In a blue light
    In a green light
    In a half-life
    In an odd light

    I’m a brainscan flip-flopping
    I’m a pulsewave hot-stepping
I put the shadows back into the boxes
    I am open
    I am welcome
For a fraction of a second
    I have jettisoned my illusions
    I have dislodged my depressions
I put the shadows back into the boxes.
I put the shadows back into the boxes.

it’s probably not brainscan as it sounds like a ‘t’ not a ‘c’. probably a science reference. I also think it’s soup and not sun, y’know as in primordeal soup.

  5. Alex says:

soup was my first thought as well … then it was sea … then it was sun … they i couldn’t be arsed to listen to it again!

  6. Psychedelic Renegade says:

    Hi

The word which you are looking for (Brainscan) is brainstem.

    Cheers

  7. Hedemann says:

Ah.. I love this song! With some Greenwood-touch, it will be amazing and powerful. Looking forward to a studio version.

  8. Hedemann says:

*even more amazing and powerful ;)

Saw this new song on youtube and instantly fell in love with it as with all radiohead songs, no other band in existence can do this by the way… I preferred the first version to be honest, with the ‘fear is a weapon’ bit, I went to see them at the LCCC in manchester but sadly he didnt play it which left me gutted, I think this new song is one of Thom’s paranoias about the new hadron particle accelerator that is being turned on soon in France/Switzerland which is going to smash particles together and reveal a lot of secrets about the origins of the universe, and theres some scary things being theorized, like it could create a blackhole, and I think this song is about Thom’s concerns over this, he could write a song about absolutely anything, the greatest living song writer/voice/band of today and maybe of all time, unbelievable.

    hmmmm….

i mean its not the usual radiohead is it?
it kind of borders on thom yorke’ solo stuff (well duh stupid me it it him playing solo lol) mainly coz it feels a bit mimimalist

    but i dunno
my opinion is it was a bit of a crap vocal performance
and y’know i didnt really like the song

    oh well

id like to find more of radiohead’s unreleased stuff
    (:
