Radohead's Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway at the end of this year will join Neil Finn again for the follow-up to the Seven Worlds Collide project. They will be recording a new album with brand new material supporting Oxfam's international development organization.

The original line-up returning for the Seven Worlds Collide Project is Neil Finn, Phil Selway, Ed O'Brien, Lisa Germano, Johnny Marr, Liam Finn and bassist Sebastian Steinberg from Soul Coughing. There will be other artists to join the project which will include Glenn Kotche, John Stirrat, Jeff Tweedy, Wilco's Pat Sansone plus songwriters Don and Runda McGlashan. Jim Scott, master recording engineer, will be doing the mixing. In the coming weeks, other names are expected to be added to the line-up.

The recording of the album will take place in Auckland in the coming months and the release date is in 2009. There will also be some concerts with a number of the artists lined-up performing. These shows will be performed in the early part of the new year in Auckland. More details to follow.

Neill Finn is amazed by the success of the project when he initially invited friends and musicians to join him seven years ago. He is glad to have the opportunity to expand the concept even further and to help Oxfam International continue the great work they are doing.

Before Radiohead leave EMI, they were probably the most important band under that label! After the "divorce" the band released a very succesfull album, In Rainbows! What EMI would do in order to take advantage of the band's top popularity? Just to create a "Greatest hit"! Till then, Radiohead had never released a similar compilation!

So it is not a surprise that the band won't support this movement! Radiohead members criticised this idea in the past (remember Phil and Ed sayings). Thom Yorke recently came into this, saying that Radiohead have never had a real hit: "We haven't really had any hits so what exactly is the purpose? It's a wasted opportunity. If we'd been behind it, and we wanted to do it, then it might have been good."

In addition, Thom Yorke denied rumours that the band asked 10 millions from EMI in order to come back!

PS: Radiohead will rest for two days before they start touring again! It is time for me to rest also!

Phil Selway had an interview for GigWise. What he said was really interesting and noone can doubt that he has only good news to bring! Phil believes that Radiohead play now better than ever: "I think we're playing well at the moment", "I think we're playing the best weve ever played, so yes, all those things add up to it being a good time to be in Radiohead." So the fans are going to enjoy great gigs, in the upcoming tour! Phil also said that, after 7 albums, the band can change the set during the tour, and that is really pleasant for them.

Answering to the question whether they are going to stop playing music Phil Selway said that this won't happen soon: "I think for all of us, as long as its still moving forward and it sits with all our lives then yes, Im sure we will carry on making music, as there’s loads of impetus there to do it."

Great news indeed! Can't wait for the tour to start!
