Radiohead were supposed to deny selling their tracks on iTunes, till now! But this changed on last Tuesday! Though in the past Radiohead didn’t allow EMI to sell their back catalog through iTunes, they decided to change their stance. Since last Tuesday Radiohead agreed with EMI to offer all of their songs from the EMI era (1993-2003) in iTunes. Many would say that this change is a result of the huge success of the In Rainbows Tracks sales through iTunes.

Radiohead criticize EMI

Before Radiohead leave EMI, they were probably the most important band under that label! After the “divorce” the band released a very succesfull album, In Rainbows! What EMI would do in order to take advantage of the band’s top popularity? Just to create a “Greatest hit“! Till then, Radiohead had never released a similar compilation!
So it is not a surprise that the band won’t support this movement! Radiohead members criticised this idea in the past (remember Phil and Ed sayings). Thom Yorke recently came into this, saying that Radiohead have never had a real hit: “We haven’t really had any hits so what exactly is the purpose? It’s a wasted opportunity. If we’d been behind it, and we wanted to do it, then it might have been good.”
In addition, Thom Yorke denied rumours that the band asked 10 millions from EMI in order to come back!
PS: Radiohead will rest for two days before they start touring again! It is time for me to rest also!
