Radiohead Shines And Wins Grammy Awards

Before the televised part of the Grammys started, Radiohead won two grammy awards for their album In Rainbows. The awards were for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Album and Best Alternative Music Album.

The British dominated the Grammys this year with Coldplay taking three awards and Robert Plant (former Led Zepplin frontman) receiving five awards, including Album Of The Year.

Radiohead for the Mercury Prize

It is not a surprise that Radiohead – In Rainbows is one of the strongest nominees for the Mercury prize. 12 albums created in 2007 were chosen from an indepedent panel.

The chairman of the Judges, Simon Frith said: “What is most striking is the continued resilience and flexibility of the album as a way of organizing music-making,” and he added “It remains an unrivalled source of musical invention and imagination, a way of linking songs, exploring themes and developing sounds.

Colin Greenwood almost went deaf

While we are during the break between two legs of the Radiohead In Rainbows Tour, the most important news revealed was Colin Greenwood went deaf during the recording sessions for In Rainbows. This is what Greenwood revealed to his interview for Word. Colin describes this experiance like a “fucking nightmare”. The reason for the accident was that what he used the wrong type of headphones!
